Imosen IMOSEN
A moment to unwind in the city.
Located in Shimbashi Ekimae Building No. 2, Imosen IMOSEN is a takeout shop offering rich mitsuimo, Silk Sweet potatoes, thick-cut sweet potato sandwiches, and filled waffles.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
On the second floor of Shimbashi Ekimae Building No. 2, Imosen IMOSEN showcases baked sweet potatoes that celebrate the distinct traits of each cultivar, alongside an assortment of original confections. Standing out among the baked tubers is mitsuimo, famed for its syrup-rich sweetness and meltingly soft texture. Guests can also choose Silk Sweet for an elegant, fine-grained bite, or Kurikaguya for a fluffy texture reminiscent of chestnuts, matching their selection to the day's mood.
The shop's signature portable treat is the Sweet Potato Waffle, sandwiching smooth sweet potato cream or roasted purée between thick, airy waffle layers. Variations include the classic Yellow, vibrant Purple, and an Azuki Bean version pairing sweet potato with coarse red bean paste. They can be enjoyed as is, though lightly toasting them brings out a crisp contrast. For a more substantial snack, the roasted sweet potato sandwich layers thick wedges of sweet potato with smooth whipped cream, offering natural sweetness and a satisfying heft.
The sweet potato pie balances the tartness of apple with sweet potato, while other baked options include chocolate-rolled pies and crepes enveloping sponge cake, whipped cream, and sweet potato chunks. Drink options include fruit sodas and the Excella frappe, topped with whipped cream and crushed sweet potato crisps. Operating purely for takeout, the shop is open from 13:30 to 20:30 Monday through Saturday, closing on Sundays. Mobile code payments such as PayPay and Rakuten Pay are accepted, making it an easy stop between train connections for a quick treat or a small gift.
